DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, December 6\, 2018 (Feast Day of St. Nicholas)\nAnnual Candlelight Prayer Service\nSt. Nicholas Church Historic Site\,  (site of former St. Nicholas Church\, N.S.)\n5:30 P.M. \nTuesday\, December 6\, the feast day of St. Nicholas\, Preserve Croatian Heritage Foundation will be holding its annual Candlelight Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Nicholas Church Historic Site (site of former St. Nicholas Church\, N.S.). Votive candles will be lit surrounding the seating area where the octagonal\, brass ring is located — the exact spot where the Saint Nicholas Church\, N.S. sanctuary once stood.\nA few\, short\, biblical readings will be read out loud\, the Joyful Mystery of the Rosary will be recited\, and the service will conclude with the singing of a couple Christmas carols accompanied by guitar in Croatian and English.\nSt. Nicholas will be represented in costume to participate in the service and to wave to passing motorists traveling on Route 28\, reminding them that December 6 is St. Nicholas Day.        This is a very beautiful\, solemn service and a wonderful photo-op for pictures of St. Nick’s historic site by candlelight\, as well as the city of Pittsburgh’s skyline.\nCome and join in prayer and song to pay tribute to our former St. Nicholas Church\, North Side’s patron saint and to keep this St. Nicholas Church tradition alive.

Authentic Croatian artifacts will be on display with merchandise available for purchase.  Take the opportunity to participate in several Chinese Raffles that will include many Croatian items and enjoy socializing with friends and family members. SUMMARY:Memorial Day Service Set for May 30 at Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:PCHF invites everyone to join former parishioners and friends of St. Nicholas Church\, N.S.\, at the Saint Nicholas Cemetery located on Hahn Road\, Pittsburgh\, PA at 11 AM on Monday\, May 30\, 2016\, to pay tribute to the 27 North Side Church parishioners who were killed or listed missing in action during their service to our country. \nFor more than a decade\, this beautiful and solemn service has been held at the North Side Church Cemetery\, and we urge you to spend a half hour with us to reflect on all those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom and for all those who serve today.  Participating in this service could help to make your festivities on Memorial Day more meaningful. \nWe are pleased that Deacon Greg Jelinec from Most Holy Name Parish will join us again this year to offer scriptural readings and reflections about the importance of this day of remembrance.  American flags will be distributed to the attendees; a moving eulogy will be given; votive candles will be lit and the bell tolled as the names of each deceased veteran is called.  The ceremony will close with the playing of Taps and the singing of “God Bless America” led by Bernice Goyak. \nPlease invite your family members and friends to join you at this most important St. Nicholas Memorial Service. \n
